Overview
In the vast majority of diseases, positive outcome of treatment is associated with early, accurate diagnosis of the condition. In addition, many drugs are beneficial for some patients but work poorly, not at all, or with adverse effect, on other patients. Protein biomarkers have the potential both to save lives and reduce treatment costs by enabling the early diagnosis of disease as well as stratifying patients for optimal therapeutic response.
Pronota is applying its advanced biomarker technologies to a number of in-house biomarker discovery programs to build a pipeline of protein diagnostic tests. Programs are currently ongoing in the fields of acute heart failure, sepsis, preeclampsia and ovarian cancer. Our aim is that simple blood tests under development at Pronota will reduce the significant patient mortality and healthcare costs associated with the above conditions that currently affect millions of people each year.
